GHOST TREAT TREE

To build a ghost tree you can get a large dead branch and anchor it in an old flower pot, or twist brown paper sack and form a tree on your bulletin board.  Copy ghost template on heavy white paper.  Students can decorate the ghosts to be spooky, goofy, silly, nice..... How many adjectives can your class come up with?  Depending on  the grade level, you might get Thesaurus out to get more creative adjectives.   If you choose to do this part of the activity then have the students write on the back, "My ghost is (adjective) because _____.   This gets a little writing into the mix.  Punch a hole to hang the ghost on the tree.  On Halloween, surprise the children by attaching a lollipop onto the ghost for them to enjoy at the end of the day.  Make sure you have the students turn in their ghosts so you can put them in their Journal/Memory Books.
