MERRY CHRISTMAS ON CHAIN LINK FENCE

I always liked this idea.  So easy.  Add a couple of large red bows and it is striking.   Only problem is you have to remember to take it down after Christmas.

EASTER TREE

Take a large limb from a tree, making sure it has lots of off-shoots.  Spray paint white.  Put in coffee can filled with cement.  Now decorate to your heart's content.  I used this tree for Easter, Jesse Tree, and Christmas Tree.  It pretty much stayed in my classroom all year.  I think it would make a great Halloween 'Spooky' Tree too.  I also used this tree in my own home when my children were younger.  See below.

Pick and choose what you would like to do.  I enjoyed using the rubs in a center with my students.  I also liked the poetry and the drawing.  You can use geometric shapes for the drawing project.  See a similar project with geometric shapes - http://okscribbler.blogspot.com/2010/02/geonimal-jungle.html

INVENTOR'S WALL OF FAME

This is a cute way to showcase the inventive ideas of your class.  Make sure the students use lots of detail and color with colored pencil for more color choice.  My students always had a lot of fun with this.  Of course it takes prep and thought on the students' part.  Taken from Copycat Press 1987.  It is out-of-print.  http://stores.ebay.com/Copycat-Store

STATE-MAPS

At the end of the map project, you could have your students take a map quiz of their state.  If age appropriate, it could be graded.  http://www.enchantedlearning.com/usa/statesbw/oklahoma.shtml

Have a variety of maps, resource books... for the students to be able to work independently.
