Place the paper so the center point is at the top and cut alternatly from one side, almost the the other until the top point is reached. It may help for students to draw straight lines every 1/2" . Make sure students understand the lines need to be straight (maybe use a ruler) and remember to keep the outer edbe uncut. Unfold the figure carfully (will need help, one person hold the top and the other unfold the tree) and glue or tie paper ornaments to the points.
