WITCHY AIRPLANE

So easy.  Such fun.  Students make paper airplane from black construction paper, add a circle with a witch face, glue on yarn for hair, and LET FLY.  Students have a lot of fun with this.   Move students outside for witch flying contests while room is cleaned after the party. Neat way to end the day for Halloween.

SAFETY QUILT

Teaching students the way to be careful during Halloween comes easily with this project.  Discuss rules that need to be followed. Write them on a 8x8 piece of  paper to put in the quilt (if needed to fill a space).  Some discussion points:  Never Trick or Treat Alone; Stay in your own neighborhood; Cross the street at a corner; Look both ways before crossing a street; Wear light colored clothing; Stay in groups; Stay away from dark houses; Bring Treats home for parents to check...

                                                                                                   

Have students draw an example of the correct way to Trick or Treat on an 8x8 paper.  If you use inch or 1/2 inch graph paper, have students color the outer edge with the same color (black).  This will display their drawing better.   This project can be done during CENTER TIME.   Post in the hallway so other students can review the safety rules.  When the display is taken down, the square can be put in the Memory/Journal Books.

GHOSTLY HAND ART

A cool way to do this art project would be to start with blue construction paper.  Use popsicle sticks to build a 3-D fence.  Make a pumpkin face out of orange construction.  Glue on.  Make a moon out of yellow construction.  Glue on.  Have students place hands in white paint, then place on blue paper.  Let dry.  Student draws face on ghosts.  Make sure to DATE paper on the FRONT. WONDERFUL KEEPSAKE FOR PARENTS.  May write a story and publish for extended activity.

GHOST FLASHCARDS - SELF CHECKING

HALLOWEEN/THANKSGIVING PAPER CRAFT PUMPKIN

Material:

Brown Paper Sack

Orange, Brown and Green Paint

Black Marker

Wire

Raffi

Design Scissors

1.  Cut out shapes with design scissors

2.  Paint both shapes

3.  Draw design on both shapes

4.  Place together, glue almost all around.  Make sure wire is attached.  Let dry.

5.  Stuff with tissue.

6.  Glue the rest of the way.

7.  Tie a bow of raffi around wire.  Hang.

CAN LEAVE OUT OCTOBER AND NOVEMBER!

PUMPKIN NOISE MAKER

Materials:

Heavy dessert paper plates

Orange paint

Paint brush

Google eyes

Green and Black construction leaf

Dried beans

Stapler

1. Paint 2 paper plates.  Let dry.

2. Cut out leaf and face features.  Glue face.

3. Place 1 paper plate on a flat surface.  Fill with1/4 cup of dried beans.  Place decorated plate on top.  Staple both plates together making sure to add leaf at the top.
