EARNING MONEY FOR GIFT GIVING

A lot of the gifts that students make are so special that they need to feel the gift is totally from them.  To achieve this, send this letter home.  Students do chores at home to earn the money needed for the gift. 

100th DAY SCHOOL ACTIVITY

Our school had each student bring in pennies.  The goal was 100 pennies per student.  Each class did their own activities that incorporated graphing and math skills that were age appropriate.  Older classes partnered with younger classes to help with their projects.  On the 100th DAY OF SCHOOL an assembly was held to give the school total and present the amount to the chosen charitable cause.   Idea was taken from - The Mailbox.com

SNOWMAN GIFT PACKAGE

FUNDRAISER GIFT WRAPPING IDEA! Older students that need to wrap gift as part of a fundraiser can get very creative.  This snowman is made of 8" diameter white paper ball with evergreen sprig for nose, inverted bell glued to a twig for the pipe and gummed seals for the eyes and mouth.  For the hat, cut a semi circle, 6" in diameter with a 2" rim (1/2 " slashes are on the inside edge).  Add a polka-dot tie.  It's a best seller!

SNOOPY CANDY CANE

Teacher Gift to students.  Glue 2 pieces of white felt together for head, making sure to catch red ribbon at the top and leaving the bottom open.  Glue ears, eyes, and nose on both sides.  Can glue movable eyes onto the black felt eye.  Put a large candy cane inside and hang on tree until it is time to distribute to the children.

POINSETTA MAGNET

Nice Gift.  Need 1 to 1 1/2 inch styrofoam balls cut in half.  Get Christmas green and red pipe cleaners that are puffy.  Fold pipecleaners in half and push into the sides of the ball. Green at the back and red at the front .  The red part of the plant are actually bracts, or modified leaves surrounding the real flowers, which are tiny, yellow and not very showy.  Find floral decorations that are yellow with pink center.  Use these as the flowers.  Poke into the center of the ball.  Glue a magnet on the back of the ball.  (Photo is very old.  Note the styrofoam does dissentigrate after a time.)

SODA CAN ANGEL

Bend soda can in half.  Spray paint soda cans white.  Paint the top pink.  Push in the opener for the mouth.  Paint eyes and cheeks.  Wrap star garland around rose colored paper.  Hot glue hair and then add the paper wings with the halo. 

POP BOTTLE WIND SPINNER

Take a large or small green pop bottle with lid.  Draw zigzag verticle lines up the bottle every inch.  Cut the lines with an exacto.  Children can now glue sequins and glittle to decorate the bottle.  Attach a spinning hanger from the lid.  Can put a fake tee light inside.  Looks great on a tree.

CORK RUDOLPH

Ever thought what you could do with all of your wine corks?  All you need is a cork, small google eyes, red nose, pistachio nut shells, and tree twigs.  Hot glue together like the picture.  Glye a small wooden skewer to the backside so can be held or a pin so it can be worn.  CUTE!

PUZZLE REINDEER PIN

Older children will love making these pins to wear, give away, or as a fund raising project. Hot glue is best.
Spray paint puzzle pieces brown.  Let dry.  Glue 3 pieces together as shown in the picture.  Glue on small google eyes and a small red nose.  Let dry.  Glue pin on the back - see picture.
